The Bronze Courtyard Apartment
An urban interior sanctuary crafted around lightwells and custom millwork
Spatial Narrative
Overview
A complete spatial reconfiguration of a high-rise apartment, transforming rigid builder partitions into fluid, light-filled living zones.
Design Challenge:
Overcoming deep floor plates with limited natural light in central living and dining areas.
Architectural Response:
Removing non-loadbearing masonry, inserting fluted glass and bronze screens, and installing concealed cove lighting to create luminous depth.
In dense urban contexts, interior architecture must carve out moments of serenity and visual pause. We reorganized the entire floor plate into clear private and entertaining axes.
Muted bronze screens with geometric perforations modulate daylight, casting subtle warm textures across custom terrazzo flooring.
All millwork was detailed specifically for the space, using solid Indian walnut and brushed champagne metal trims.
